As most of you know the Google pixel 10 was released today with Android 16 With QPR 1 and I just wanted to let everyone know that as it is right now The Galaxy watch 8 Does NOT work with Pixel 10 and Android 16 at all.

I tried to speak with Official support chat today and that was 100% a complete waste of time. the support rep was just reading me Auto replies on how to pair devices with bluetooth.

I hope someone at Samsung will see this and please forward this to someone that can get the Dev's to take a look at what's going on

I was finally able to connect my Galaxy watch ultra 2024 with my pixel 10 XL pro. I had done all steps that were suggested on the forum but none helped. This is what finally worked for me. Hope it works for rest of you. Please reply and let me know.

1. Watch was disconnected and reset from Pixel 8 Pro

2. Until now I had only cleared cache and storage of the Wear and GalaxyWatch7Manager app. This time I cleared them along with all other Samsung apps such as Samsung Health, Samsung Smart switch.

3. Restarted the watch and opened the Wear app on the phone. Got the Bluetooth pairing screen with the code. Surprisingly it didn't disappear right away and allowed me to hit pair on both the wear app on the phone and on the watch.

4. Still the wear app went back to searching for watch. I lost hope. However I saw that the watch was paired to the phone via Bluetooth as it appeared in connected devices on the phone.

5. I went back on the wear app and clocked on get started again. This time it showed the watch under paired section on the top. I clicked on the watch and the process began with asking for my Google account to connect with, followed by asking to sign into Samsung account and all permissions required for Galaxywatch7manager and Smart Switch and it went through all the way to the end and viola my watch was finally paired and working with the phone. Could answer phone calls etc.

The only thing that happened this time was it didn't give me any backup to choose from and installed the watch as brand new. Looks like the clearing of the smart switch app and all other Samsung apps did the trick this time.

Hope this works for everyone. Good luck!

Tried this (clearing Wear and SmartSwitch, Health Manager etc) but unfortunately hasn't worked for me.

I'm convinced that all these methods amount to nothing, connection successes are a matter of luck...

Google’s official reply in this thread (https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/369228492/since-getting-my-new-pixel-10-pro-xl-i-m-not-...

) says:

“This issue is on Samsung’s side.” 2025-09-08 193520.pngBut the same Galaxy Watch Ultra works normally on other Android phones (Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi). The pairing problem happens only on the Pixel 10 series, always at the same stage (PIN or ~85–89%). Tech media and many users have confirmed this.
If the issue were on Samsung’s side, the watch would fail on all Android devices, not just Pixel 10. This strongly suggests a compatibility problem specific to Pixel 10.
Users need:
  1. An official acknowledgment that Pixel 10 is affected.
  2. Confirmation that Google and Samsung teams are working together.
  3. A realistic timeframe for a fix.
Right now customers are left without clear communication. Please provide a joint update.

This is NOT strictly a 10 issue. There have been reports about the 6,7,8,9 and 10. I've encountered the issue myself on my 7P and 9PXL.

But the argument that the Watch Ultra works on other devices isn't very dissimilar to the argument that other WearOS watches work fine on the Pixel 10 (OnePlus Watch 3, TicWatch Pro 5 for starters).  So, it's not a strong enough argument to assign blame.

I will also point out that the Watch 7, a functionally identical piece of hardware as far as this is concerned, works fine with QPR1.  The same can be said for the Watch 6C (and I assume Watch 6) at least as recent as the end of last week.

The likely answer is probably somewhere in-between.  Google possibly tightened up stricter compliance with bluetooth specifications with QPR1 while some versions of OneUI Watch play a little more fast and loose with them.  These two things came to a head and we have the issue we have now.

Also, "Diamond Product Expert" is no different from the "Samsung Ambassador" issue we had in this very same thread.  Neither are employees of either company and are merely community members that have gained enough clout to have a label.

Put me on the list. Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 won't pair with Pixel 10 (non-pro). Either fails at PIN or somewhere in the 80% range.
