Hi, I'm thinking of getting a Samsung Galaxy 5 Pro watch.

I have recently been diagnosed with Atrial Fibrilation (AF) - which apparently the watch can detect.

What I want to know is: Does the watch store a history of times when I have gone into AF?  So for instance can I look back over the last week and see when I was in AF and when not?

Nope and half the time it's not even accurate but smart watches are not actual medical devices so I would just buy the real thing

Thanks.  Actually my heart specialist recommended I get a smart watch for this reason.  She did recommend an Apple one, but to use the AF history, you need an iPhone.  And I have a Samsung phone, so I wanted to stick with Samsung.

The real thing? Another device? What would that be please?

Thank you for reaching out and welcome to the community. I can certainly understand the importance of tracking your heart rate and I would be happy to look into this further for you. Sometimes you feel like your heart rate has improved during your jogs, but other times you feel out of breath. You can view your overall heart rate trends to find patterns and enhance your performance.

To see a summary of your past heart rate measurements, swipe through the chart. You can select the date you want to view your heart rate trends and measurements throughout the day.

Alternatively, you can track your heart rate trends for the week directly on the watch. From the watch screen, swipe left until you see the Heart rate widget, and then tap it. Give this link a try for more information under track your heart rate trends: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00083511/

Alternatively you would also be able to use the ECG feature on your watch for further assistance. Give this link a try for more information on ECG and how it works: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00087703/
