I have a Galaxy 7 watch, I have accidentally turned on contact syncing, and even though I have disabled it in the apps on the watch, it is still use a good tremendous amount of watch battery. Any ideas how to turn it off so that it does not use any of my watch battery?

Contact syncing is for your phone to sync your contacts with Google.  The contacts app on your watch is the companion app to the contacts app on your phone. As such, when your watch and phone are paired, your contacts are just on your watch, period; and they will only update if you add or delete a contact on either device, and then only for the period of time it takes to add/remove the contact(s) - less than a few seconds.  If your battery is draining abnormally fast, something else is causing it.  You may have some apps running in the background. Check your open apps on the watch by pulling up from the bottom and tapping the recent apps icon.  Then close everything.  You will be left with a screen showing background app (usually Samsung Health & Google Assistant).  You can also check your battery usage in the battery section of the watch settings to see which apps are using your battery- I assure you it is not contacts.  You might have to do some maintenance on the watch such as deleting the cache partition.

Thank you for the quick reply. That is precisely why I made this post. When I checked that setting in the battery section of my watch for apps using the battery, contacts was always like 10 to 12% since the last charge. All other apps were less than 1%.

Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated. If you have other thoughts I would love to hear them. Thank you this battery drain is driving me crazy!

Try clearing the cache partition on the watch. There is no reason contacts should be using any battery at all.

Do you have any AODs on ? That drains the battery fast.

Out of the last 10 hours, Samsung contacts have used 13%, nothing else is over 1%.

Clearing the cache seem to help a lot. But still only getting about 12 to 15 hours out of a charge. I reset the phone tonight. Will let you know how things go the next few days
