Galaxy S25Hi, me again.
So after my post the other day, I switched to Basic battery protection mode. The one where it charges to 100%, then let's it drop to 95% before charging again.
Well, it didn't work. It charged to 100% and held it there. I can switch to Maximum protection and it immediately stops charging, but on basic (or adaptive as it hasn't learned my sleep habits yet) it just keeps it at 100% all night.
I will add that while I'm fairly certain I am using an official (from my S22U) charging brick, I'm not using a Samsung USB-C cable. I'm not sure how that could be the issue, or if it is, but I wanted to mention it at least. I also hadn't restarted my phone after changing the setting, but this morning before my restart I DID change it to Maximum and it immediately stopped charging. After my morning restart, (back on Basic) I plugged it back in and even though it was still at 100%, it started charging again.
I'm trying to not let this phones battery die like the rest of the Android lineup, so any ideas? The phone is less than two weeks old. Works flawlessly other than this.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Galaxy S25Sounds like it's not an isolated incident then chaps! Perhaps submit an error report through the "members app". Find the app icon and then long press it (don't open the app).... You will then get an option to submit error / debug report and can send message to Samsung tech / dev team. The more messages they get the more they will realise this is a software bug that needs to be fixed!

Galaxy S25Just to add to this - I did not use smart switch. I set-up the new phone 100% manually.

Galaxy S25Hey MetalMatty, Thanks for being part of the Community. We understand the concern with Basic Battery Protection not working correctly.
Just a quick recap of troubleshooting options:
1. Clear cache partition of phone.
2. Clear cache of Device Care
3. It is recommended to use a Samsung Charger and Charging Cable
We recommend submitting feedback through the Support Tab in the Members app to provide the data to Samsung. https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Tips-Tricks/How-to-Send-Feedback/ba-p/3001692 This will provide the data logs from the phone to Samsung developers.
If the phone stops charging service is recommended.
You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S. that can do the repair: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location or by contacting customer support at 1-800-726-7864.
For assistance outside the U.S., please use this link: https://www.samsung.com/us/common/visitlocationsite.html
