Galaxy S25You could make a feature request by sending feedback, though I wouldn't expect much of a response for such a niche request.
If you are dealing with such sensitive notification content that you need content hidden while you are actively using the device, consider disabling pop-ups/banners and purchasing a privacy screen protector to prevent off-axis viewing.

Galaxy S25Don't want your wife to know about your girlfriend and vice versa? Then you should keep the phone locked always and set a fingerprint for easy unlocking. One assumes that when your phone is unlocked, you are the one using it, and you are the one who can see the content. If you want the features that you say other phones you have owned had, sorry to say that you will have to get one of those devices. I hope you make sure before you buy that those options still exist on those phones.
Android Auto should never be in the secure folder, and it's not a separate app anymore anyway, so there would be no way to "app lock" it anyway. It's completely integrated into the operating system. You can put Google Maps into the secure folder, again, there's no reason to or to lock it. You can change the maps settings to not keep your location/route history, so that anyone nosing around won't know you were where you shouldn't have been.

Galaxy S25Regarding notifications:
I can give you a lot of examples other than the one that you talked about
One example:
You have given your phone to your friend/colleague to show them some pictures of your trip or some project that you have worked on - do you want them to see your personal email's content? Or the messages that you have received?
Second one - Regarding android auto:
Its a system app, user doesn't have to install it
And when I started using secure folder: I noticed that some apps were pre-added to the secure folder like internet for example, i never added android auto (I cannot since it's not an app installed by the user), when I tried to connect my mobile to my car to start using Android auto it threw errors that I never seen before and when I tried to give all permissions to android auto through settings (assuming that the issue is with permissions) i noticed that it has all the permissions & so I checked the notification settings for the android app in notifications & i found small secure folder icon at the bottom of the android auto - which is weird - why would I need to Secure it ??? I don't want it to be secured it! So I re-checked the secure folder for android auto, to see whether it was added to the folder or not, i don't find it in there (which is expected) - so to fix this issue I uninstalled the secure folder, reset the blue tooth & wifi settings

Galaxy S25First of all, my phone is never in someone else's hands unless I am right there watching what they are doing. If I show them photos, I'm the one holding the phone. Any notification that comes in during that time, the bubble flashes by almost too quickly to read, and only maybe half a line of content is displayed in that bubble. One can only read the content by pulling down the notification shade - again, no one is doing that while I'm watching. Even if they did manage to do that, the notification card only shows max 3 lines of text, not a whole email or text message. Hardly anything private in that, unless the text content reads: "your test results are in, you have syphillis", which would never be sent in a text or email anyway.
I don't use secure folder, so I can't speak to what is in it by default, but my understanding is that there is nothing in it until you move things into it. As you said, Android Auto is integrated into the system, so it would not be in the secure folder. Even Samsung would not put it there, as it would be unusable when the folder is locked.
I have had many phones from many brands over the past 30 years or so, and never did any of them have an app lock. The only apps that have separate security and lock upon each exit are banking apps and any apps that contain payment information.
If you are having issues with the secure folder and any apps in it, my suggestion would be to first remove your password from it, or make sure you know what it is, then delete the folder to reset it. Reboot your phone and then set it up again. See if the same issues occur. If they do not, carry on as normal. If they do, a factory reset may be in order, so make sure all your personal information is backed up. If you still have issues, put in an error report.

Galaxy S25As far as the notification content, one would see the content once the notification is tapped anyway, so what difference does it make if your notification contains 1 line of the message and who it's from? As @CEParsons said, just disable the pop up, then the notifications are hidden behind the notification shade and you will only see 3 icons and a dot on your status bar to indicate that you have notifications.
