Galaxy S25

Hello All,

I am new to this forum. I have just purchased a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra to replace my new iPhone 16 Pro Max due to the need of a stronger telephoto lens as a pro photographer.

I needed a remote BT device such as a grip extension, gimbal, etc. especially when working with a tripod. After being paired, operating any of the remote BT devices (I have tried 6 now) will not work the shutter! Instead, the zoom-out is what works when pressing the BT remote button!

I have tried chatting with CS at Samsung but they are all confused thinking I have a third party app rather than a code or communication issue.
Is there some secret code to fix this or a Samsung error?

BT will no longer work with the shutter with the S25U as that was removed with this latest iteration of the Ultra phones. Watch this very short vid of a workaround.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3bhGhOQ1ng&t=120s

If I am misunderstanding, apologies.

@Tom6068 They are not talking about the S Pen feature. They are talking about a 3rd party selfie stick which has a BT shutter button.

True, and did not mention that, an oversight. But the video I referenced mentions that workaround using a 3rd party device. Having said this, some BT 3rd party products are not compatible. I got video from a search. One issue is that some of those products default to using the zoom feature as one example as the OP mentions. Your Yiotch is one that is compatible. These also work and the remote cost $6 for the Acuvar. (from search)

Many thanks, Tom6068, I appreciate taking the time to list options. Ironically, the Xenvo was one of the ones I tried and returned, which now bothers me as it could be a corruption issue and like it or not, I may have to do a total reset.

I have ordered 2 more shutter release remotes, including the Atumtek. If these don't work I will do the reset and cross my fingers.

No, this was a nice try, though. As I wrote, 8 different remotes were used! They DO work, as mentioned, on the base (standard) app and the Pro app, but not the Expert Raw (typically those who are more professional and edit photos). Taking away the functionality of a third-party BT is like saying the camera overall is not as good as the rest of the manufacturers. They are supposed to be advancing the technology, not removing it!
Based on this experience, I should return to my iPhone 16 Pro Max! Their stuff always works and comes out with improved technology, not remove it.

So you want remote camera taking functionality for RAW photo taking using a BT device. If you say it works in Pro-mode, then change the image taking setting in the camera app to taking RAW in that mode. 1747926232467.jpg

Hello and thanks for the followup.
It work in "Pro" it doesn't work in native "Expert Raw" which is different. It is a separate app as a stand-alone and within the native standard app as well as "Pro"

Right I know Expert RAW as I have that app, but RAW images can be shot that way in Pro with a bit less granular control.

Maybe with the UI 8.0 which is abt 2-3 months away this can addressed. In the meantime, you can click on "Support" when opening the members app at the bottom, then send feedback as you describe. They read suggestions, issues etc. But for now using Pro mode will be your only option unless going back iPhone or buying a dedicated camera for $400 that would have far superior hardware to any camera phone with also having Bluetooth.
