All of my Samsung devices are being factory reset. No one other than me has access. I live alone. Changed both google and Samsung passwords. Only my Samsung devices are authorized in devices. Happens overnight, I wake up and everything is reset. I receive the message an unauthorized attempt was made to factory reset the device. Which makes no sense since it proceeds to factory reset anyway. Phones are brand new and even gotten replacements just in case and still happens. Support sees no security issues and neither does Google. I have 2 factor also and never receive any notifications. This is rediculous no help is available.

I wonder if  you installed some software yourself that may be causing a conflict and causing  your  phone to reset.  Perhaps turn AVG off or uninstall it for awhile if it can't be turned off.  It might be causing resets if it runs scans at night. See if this still happens with the app disabled. As I said, hackers have more interest in controlling your device and gathering your personal info, than just vexing you by resetting your phone.

After the phones reset, I only did a restore of sms and contacts and only did the avg install after the device was factory reset. I'm a computer/cell tech, so more aware of the common things. But this is just racking my brain on **bleep** it could be.

Did you reset the password for your Samsung online account?

Yes I unauthorized all devices then changed the password as well. Samsung told me devices can only be restarted but Google can factory reset. Trying to figure out a way to maybe disable. I have turned off find my device. But even if the devices are off and the signal to FR is sent, it will reset when wifi or data is available.

You can remove the device from Google find hub, but then you will not be able to locate it from there.  Go to Google find hub, tap on the device in question, tap on the "find hub" gear  on the top left and then slide off "allow device to be located".  This should prevent anyone who may have accessed your Google account to find or fiddle with your device.

If you changed all your passwords and enabled 2FA, no one but you should have access anyway, so it's entirely possible that this is not happening because someone is doing this to you.  As I said before, there may be a malfunctioning app that is causing it.  The only way to know for sure is to first remove the device from the find hub.  If that does not solve the issue, then you know there is some other issue at work.  Put in an error report.  Even though you said you did not restore apps from your backup, it does not mean you don't have a bad app.  It could be you keep downloading the same bad app.

I have ruled out the bad app issue due to my tablet being FR and only have the stock apps installed. Nothing synced. All 3 devices being factory reset at the same time is suspicious due to them being on different OSs, different service providers and different app configs. I was able to find the find my device setting on the phone but not on the hub site or app to turn it off. I rather have the setting off or removed instead of having to completely relogin to every single app. Lost all pictures already on all devices too.

It does appear that the culprit would be your Google account being compromised.  Even though you said you changed the password and enabled 2FA, if it's somehow being accessed (by crazy ex, perhaps?) you may have changed the password to something they could guess, or changed it from a device already compromised. Perhaps you should log all your devices out of Google (temporarily, for the sake of experiment), and see if this behavior continues.  If it does, then it is not a compromised Google account.  If it does not continue, then I suggest, you remove all your devices from the current Google account and create a new Google account and sign your devices into that account.

If your photos disappeared from your phone, they should be in Google Photos.  If they are not, then whoever has been messing with your phone deleted them from your Google account, as well. Unless you turned off Google backup yourself.

If you log out of Google, and this continues, could be that the router is compromised - even though you reset it and locked it down, there may be an open gaming port.  If all your devices are connected to your wi-fi network, they would be affected by this.  Have you tried adding a VPN to your devices? This should prevent someone from getting in by the open port/router method.  You can also ask your ISP for a replacement router and start completely fresh.

One last thing, you said after the resets you only restore your settings and messages.  Perhaps the settings were messed with and you are replicating this behavior by restoring the settings.  You should not need to restore the messages, as they should just be in the messaging app when you reinstall it (unless you have messages going back forever). Next reset, try (as much as a pain as it may be) to start completely from scratch and do all your settings manually.

Update on this issue. I have flashed original stock firmware. Stock apps, with 2 brand new Google and Samsung accounts and it happened again. Each device has only a brand new Gmail and samsung account logged in. I even put the devices in airplane mode overnight and still woke up to them both being reset. I have a seperate router being used from the original router also. Just to rule out the router being compromised. Its also a different provider ๐Ÿค” My mind is blown. Hacker attack maybe somehow?
