Galaxy S25

I stopped by Best Buy the other day while shopping for a new TV. While I was there, I stopped to check out the new S25 phones. I have to say the design is disappointing. I thought the boxy look of my A54 was the sacrifice I had to make for the lower end phone, but it seems the sleekness of the earlier S series is gone forever. Now I see why people seem to feel that Samsung is copying Apple. I really loved the rounded sides and corners of the S10. It was not only esthetically pleasing, but very "hand happy". At least the A54 has the rounded corners, unlike the S25. Also, I am now absolutely positive I hate OneUI7 after playing around with it for a while. I do not like the fact that the five Quick Access icons have been placed mid screen, instead of at the tippy top, the way it is now. That's an inconvenience that makes it unworkable for me. The whole idea of quick access is to give a small swipe and quickly choose your option.

That looks unwieldly making the device too big to carry. The Ultra is already pretty large.

As far as having an actual physical keyboard, it would make the device frame thicker defeating its thinner design. I guess on the s25 that could work, or they shrink the screen height.

Experiencing a device for a while would not come close to experiencing the customizations, the functions etc. For me personally, I read online at various time during December of last year & before I made my purchase the pro and cons.

The S25 ultra has rounded corners as do the two smaller models...

I saw all the S25 models, the corners on the A54 are rounder. My S10 was so much more elegant and had a great hand feel. When I went to the A54, I figured that I gave up the elegance for the lower price point and not having all the features I didn't want.  I guess I was wrong, since they abandoned the elegant design of the earlier S series.  At least the colors are nice.

It's all subjective but there's is something to be said about comfort holding the devices. The S22 - 24 ultras all have those square corners. The 25s all have rounded corners so the OP must have a threshold to what is rounded as opposed to the previous ultra models.

That aside, I also had the S10, it was smaller of course and more comfortable also a great camera. But smaller devices are going to be more comfortable. In the end most of the preferences are subjective a few objective. šŸ˜Š

My S10 lite is actually a fraction of an inch longer than my A54.  It's more esthetically pleasing because not only are the corners rounded, the sides are, as well - avoiding the boxy look. Every time I take it out of my drawer, it makes me happy to hold it. Were it not for a combination aging out of Android updates and a very good sale price on the A54, I would still be using it.
