Galaxy S25

Hello.

I purchased an S25 Ultra, 512gb Jet Black phone.  The S-Pen rattles when I tap the left half of the screen and it sounds like something is broken under the glass when I navigate the user interface.

The S-Pen also rattles when my phone is on vibrate and it sounds terrible.  It does not matter if the S-pen button is facing up or down when inserted and no debris is inside the pen cavity.

The rattles completely stop if I lightly touch the pen button when installed or if the pen is completely removed.

I still have my S24 Ultra and the S-Pen does not rattle at all, under any condition.

I have noticed that the S-Pen material is different between the S24 and S25 Ultra phones.  The S24 Ultra S-pen appears to have a rubber coating, while the S25 Ultra feels like  plastic.  Unfortunately the S24U pen does not fit in the S25U.

The camera rattle (known and by design) + s-pen rattles makes the phone feel really cheap, no where near the 1400.00 price tag.  And with the inevitable upcoming A.I subscription enforcement, I can't justify the price even with the amazing trade value for my S24U.

Before I return my S25U, is there anything that I can do to resolve this?

Hello Bryan, Welcome to the Community. We understand the concern with the rattle noise you are hearing.

You are correct in there are many differences in the S Pens between the S24 and S25 phones. The S24 S Pen is not compatible with the S25 phone.

Many people have reported a "camera rattle" in the phones, and it has been noted it is Optical Image Stabilization. You can read more about it here: https://www.samsung.com/latin_en/support/mobile-devices/do-you-hear-a-small-noise-from-inside-of-the...

Regarding AI subscriptions, we have seen where Google is charging a fee. However, at this time, Samsung will not be charging for the Galaxy AI features.

With the S Pen rattle, you would need to have that evaluated by an authorized technician, as they would be qualified to tell you whether that is a concern or not. You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S.: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location or by calling customer support at 1-800-726-7864.
