S25 Ultra overheating and poor battery life

I had this issue on my S24 Ultra in late summer, so I decided to trade it in for the S25 Ultra and it's happening straight out of the box. The phone gets really warm and the battery starts dropping at like... 1% every minute or two. Restarting the phone stops it for a little while but then it keeps doing it. I've included the battery graph, and you can see it just randomly curve down. Does anyone know what could be causing this? My Pixel 8 gets better battery life at this point!

Ya I considered trading it in but I can't see the point. It does everything I need it too. Plus seeing some reports of bad battery life from the s25 series why take a chance?

I'm getting great on screen time and I have the display on the highest.

Oh no, that's terrible! I would be very frustrated. I'm just putting the charger on mine now. I got crazy on screen time today. I just took another screenshot to show you. 22hr 44 min since charge out of the box last night.

I mean, I posted the screenshot earlier but like... this isn't normal (and battery saver was on the entire time). If I was playing some ray traced 3D game I would absolutely understand. But for watching YouTube and shooting a few messages on Discord?

That is really bad, I also have the QHD+ for display on and screen saver off, I've never used the higher display so I was really surprised that 9 hours of screen on time. I'm coming from an S23 ultra and the highest I've gotten for screen on time was about 7.
One thing I do, do is I do not have the screen brightness up very high at all. Minimum cuz I don't like a bright screen it hurts my eyes. With adaptive brightness turned off.
I hope that it is just a bug in that it will get fixed in an update for you. We'll see if this was just a fluke, and I'll let you know what I get for with this full battery for on screen time. Have a great day!😊

hello, do you use 5G or 4G, because i notice on 5G the drain in the battery is bigger, hope thats normal

I cant say mine drains very fast but it did get very hot. Specifically the metal edge on top of the phone and around the cameras, i was just playing oldschool runescape which is a big battery drainer but i wasnt expecting it to get almost to hot to hold within 30 min. Granted i dont have a cover on it yet so its extra noticeable.

No because I'm old and I don't play games but this thing gets hot I mean seriously hot just using GPS and Android auto

Hi, so my second day with a full battery actually I want a day and a half I think I did not get close to the 9 hours. I'm don't know if because I literally was on my phone all day and I get the full 9 hours and I was at work yesterday so I wasn't. I'm going to recharge again and then see what my third day on a full battery comes to.
