Basic checks and fixes
Restart your phone and network: A simple restart can often resolve temporary glitches. Restart your phone and your Wi-Fi router.
Check Wi-Fi connection: Ensure your device is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. In the Quick settings panel, tap and hold the Wi-Fi or mobile data icon to check your connection.
Check for app updates: Make sure both your Gallery app and your cloud storage app (like OneDrive or Google Photos) are updated to the latest version from the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store.
Verify app permissions: Go to Settings > Apps > [Your Gallery App or Cloud App] > Permissions. Ensure that "Photos and videos" and "Storage" permissions are set to "Allow" or "Always allow".
Cloud service-specific steps
For OneDrive
Enable sync in the Gallery app: Go to the Gallery app, tap the three horizontal lines (Menu), go to Settings, and ensure "Sync with OneDrive" is toggled on.
Check OneDrive app settings: Open the OneDrive app, go to Settings, and make sure Gallery sync is enabled. Check Network settings and choose whether to sync over Wi-Fi only or over Wi-Fi and mobile data.
Clear cache and re-sign in: Go to Settings > Apps > OneDrive > Storage and tap "Clear cache." After clearing the cache, sign back into the OneDrive app.
Manually sync additional folders: If photos are on an SD card, you may need to manually set the sync path. In the OneDrive app, go to Camera Upload and Additional folders to ensure the correct folders are selected for syncing.
For Google Photos
Check "Back up device folders": Open the Google Photos app, go to Settings > Back up & sync > Back up device folders, and ensure the folders containing your pictures are enabled.
Clear cache: Press and hold the Google Photos app icon, tap the "i" or info icon, select Storage and cache, and tap Clear cache.
Advanced troubleshooting
Manually sync data: If auto-sync isn't working, you can manually trigger a backup in your cloud service's app settings. For Samsung Cloud, go to Settings > Samsung account > Samsung Cloud > Back up data > Back up now.
Clear data for Samsung Cloud: Go to Settings > Apps > Samsung Cloud > Storage and tap "Clear data." After this, you will need to re-sign in to your Samsung account and re-sync your data.
Remove and re-add your cloud account: Sometimes, removing your account from the phone and then signing back in can fix issues. For OneDrive, go to your phone's Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts, select your OneDrive account, and tap Remove account.
