Hey everyone!
I'm currently using the S22 Ultra and thinking about switching to the S25 Ultra. For those who’ve already got it, how’s the overall experience so far?

• Any major improvements in camera or battery life?

• Is the performance noticeably better?

• How’s the new display tech (if any)?

I would stick with the Ultra you have IMO and I still have mu S22U. It still is eligible for one more UI update (UI 8.0 coming around probably no earlier than August) and one more year of security updates (thru 2026). The S22 already had the UI 7.0 UI upgrade released earlier this month. If you have that, you would see some very noticeable changes to the UI. There are some detractor and there definitely are some annoyances. If you have not installed the update, then you should and then get a feel of the UI 7.0.

Overall, the speed and processing power of the S25 is very good, even better than Apple's best chip for the latest smartphone, which is a first in many years. Its allowance to customize the UI almost endlessly to whatever people like is unmatched as no other device maker's UI allows the amount of customization Samsung allows. It has one of best AI functions (if that is something you need/want) and it does take really great photos with its camera, but it still has issues. It connection to Wi-Fi and mobile data is incredibly good, there is no arguing that. I can almost reach 1gbps download speed on my 5G network here whereas my S22U would typically be around 400-500mbps.

The camera hardware has only moderately changed since the S21U but it still it hit or miss with nighttime images with noise especially in video mode. It has some color accuracy issues and it has a very hit or miss issue with capturing people in motion that blurs out the motion of their movement or the motion of objects like moving cars, etc, which is fairly common. Those issues should have been fixed if not by now considering the processing power, but even going back to the S22 model. It is disappointing somewhat that really no software had been adjusted/improved to make what is top notch camera hardware function among the best.

Despite my criticisms of certain aspects of the S25U, it is still an awesome device, that simply needs to be improved. If you are wanting it nonetheless, wait until after June's update which is suppose to get a big software update along with the security update. That was supposedly to happen with May's update. Then ask about the device after that update. There a few folks here who are well versed with the latest S25 models and they are honest about their experiences. Otherwise, wait until the release of the S26 models. One person who really could comment on this is @Robin621k, who also has a Pixel 9 Pro XL (IIRC) and years of experience with Samsung models.

Thanks very good information on the s25 ultra. I just recently upgraded from the note 20 Ultra to the s25 ultra only because there were no longer security updates. I miss my baby so sorry the Note 7 started the downfall of the Note series plus it was never promoted like the S Series and that's sad😒

Yeah, I feel you. The Note 20 Ultra was amazing I miss it too. It’s sad how the Note series slowly faded after the Note 7. The S25 Ultra is great but the Note had a special vibe. 🥺📱
