If the S26 Ultra doesn't match One Plus' 15 specs with better cameras, I'm just going to switch to One Plus. Better battery, good screen, leading edge features... Samsung is just losing it with the Galaxy S lineup by focusing on foldable and skinny phones. MKBHD asked One Plus to release an Ultra 15 which would make me switch in a heartbeat. It's starting to feel like when I switched from HTC to Samsung all over again.

While the OnePlus15 is really a great device, the big downgrade in camera hardware from the 13 is a dealbreaker for me. I really don't get it. OP has always produced great device with OK cameras making them better with each model. The 13 was almost deal for me, but its night shots still missed the mark a bit. Now they miss the mark a lot, again! I watched MKBHD's video on it and everything it can do and that is markedly improved outside of the camera downgrade is big. Oxygen OS IMO is best Android based operating system. A device I really want but is taking a chance is the Oppo Find 9X Pro. It has better hardware, far better camera hardware about every other android flagship model and it is $1079 for a 16/512GB model.

Having said that, the OP15 with 16/512 is $999, $300 less than the S25U.

Tbh, it's not a lack of innovation, Samsung & Apple have a near monopoly in North American markets, so there is little competition to have to provide the best hardware. They are can just give little increments here and there with each iteration.

If they had actual competition that is largely not allowed by major carriers, things could change. There is also lobbying influences especially a very rabid anti-Chinese bsse that is a decades long nationalist created mindset that they are evil, so in a large way, many Americans have already formed poor ideals of China & of course Russia.

If people would tell carriers to allow other devices than typical western or US ally made brands, then Samsung would have to compete.
