So I bought a s 22 ultra unlocked from Samsung when it came out... and I seemed to like the tmobile phone... only because it seemed like the phone had more compatibility with t moblie... so I ordered the s 25 ultra t mobile instead of unlocked ... will the phone still be unlocked since it's paid for ... I actually want the t mobile logo when I turn it on ... I guess my question is it good or bad to have ordered the t mobile version

Hi there.

The device will come locked to T-Mobile only. You'll have to wait around 30-90 days with the phone active before T-Mobile can unlock it. Even so, it may not be registered in their unlock system and you may need to submit further information and wait for them to add it. Your best bet is to contact T-Mobile's T-Force via X (formerly Twitter) via chat and ask about this process.

I've gone through a similar situation in the past and it was a long process. I'd recommend choosing an unlocked device next time if you're looking to have it unlocked out of the box.

*If this has changed as of recently, someone let me know šŸ˜Š

My sister unlocked her phone via the app. But T-Mobile does require a device to be on the service for 3 months before unlocking. If it comes locked to T-Mobile it will be in their unlock system.

The phone will be locked to T-Mobile for 3 months, then it should automatically unlock, if it does not, then you can unlock it through the TLife app.  T-Mobile requires locked phones to be on their network for 3 months, paid for or not, before unlocking.

Rte phone myst be paid off and on t mobile network for 45 days in good standing before unlocking; but it can take up to 90 days. you typically can request yourself under
> connections
> more connection settings
> network unlock
you can then request permanent unlocking or a temporary one, for say traveling.

Great comments above. I also prefer unlocked versions as there is no pre-installed carrier bloatware and it includes virus scanning. T-mobile removes that so you can buy their McAfee subscription.

Tmobile has the least bloatware of any carrier and also the least settings restrictions.

Who doesn't? OP said he wanted it for the T-Mobile start up sound. I just made it my notification tone for their monthly billing text.
