Idk if anyone can help. Used to when you receive a notification the full screen would wake up if screen was off and I would know there was a message or something. Now I cant find the setting for this to occur.

I haven't paid attention to it to see if this is what you are looking for. In settings if you search full screen alerts it says "Allow apps to send full screen alerts that cover the entire screen"1760416984958.jpg

This may work. I notice your messages app doesn't appear as an option either.

I hadn't noticed that it appears not all apps are listed

If you go to Setting> Apps > click the 3 dots in the right corner> Special Access> Turn Screen On, Messages (Samsung version) for me is listed. Maybe this will help.

Even if a notification takes over the full screen, would the screen not time out again if you are not there to see it? Would the notification remain once the screen blacks out?  Normal notifications leave an icon in the status bar, so you would know you have a notification.
