Just a heads up, Samsung Dex doesn't work on OneUI 7. Like the S pen, useful functionality has been stripped out.
The alternative is to use Link to Windows, which I can't do. I used Dex to transfer text and files easily from my phone to my work computer, which doesn't allow the link to Windows application.
Maybe the Galaxy S26 will remove the screen altogether and provide the workaround of "just guess what would be on your display"
If all you are doing is transferring files and shortcuts then I would encourage you to check out the open source app called LocalSend. It operates serverless, is secure, and works across many different platforms (including Apple and Linux). Highly recommended.
You can also add it to the share destinations in Android so itās easy to share items from within apps. In Windows, it can add itself to the Send To option in the File Explorer context menu.
Do a search for LocalSend on YouTube for videos that will show you a quick demonstration.
