DEX not working

Just a heads up, Samsung Dex doesn't work on OneUI 7. Like the S pen, useful functionality has been stripped out. 

The alternative is to use Link to Windows, which I can't do. I used Dex to transfer text and files easily from my phone to my work computer, which doesn't allow the link to Windows application. 

Maybe the Galaxy S26 will remove the screen altogether and provide the workaround of "just guess what would be on your display"

Interesting how you could use Samsung dex on your work computer and not phone link.. My work computer is pretty locked down... But somehow, through settings/control panel.. It allows me to install phone link. It does it by itself, like an update. In windows 11.

Nope. I don't have access to it.. However, thought the settings/control panel, like I said above, it allows me to install phone link. I can't remember the steps exactly.. But I can do it with it. I mostly use it to have access to text messages, copy and paste between the two. I say it allows me, because our computers get wiped overnight, every morning. It's a new system for me 😡

Reading is fundamental... 🙃 Companies can block their systems from having access to the Microsoft store. Like I said before, I get phone link through a different way, and it works for me. Trying to help the OP to find work arounds to be able to use phone link.

This only affects the DeX for Windows app tho.

My understanding is the DeX app works normal with virtually no changes. It's annoying they shared the same name. But you're still able to plug your phone into a monitor and use it as a "desktop" of sorts as normal. But the windows DeX app is being deprecated in ui7 in favor of Link to Windows for whatever reason. Just wanted to clarify for users who read your post.

Personally I never have once used the DeX for Windows app nor Link to Windows, but I use DeX with my secondary desktop monitor all the time, which isn't changing afaik.

Yeah. Unfortunately, I used the Dex app more for copy paste of text and links for documents, and convenience between the phone and computer generally.

I can plug my phone into the monitors here, but that just makes a bigger phone display. Lol.
