This is just a reference, nothing scientific or indicative of any findings.. . purely educational.
I remember when the S22 Ultra came out with the 45 watt capability, the whole Samsung community was in uproar because it was a $50 charger that was not technically necessary as the 25 watt ended up charging the phone a whole 8 or 10 minutes slower But I digress. In this photo, right side; I've got a run of the mill generic 45 watt PD charger with Samsungs proprietary protocol aka a fake charger and on the left I've got the official Samsung 45 watt brick, I've got four or five of them now (so I figured I could spare one to tear apart and it's still going to work anyway when I put it back together).
Now, seeing the difference with your own eyes, which one would you trust for the next say 2 years every single day or multiple times a day to not only take non-stop 120 volt main input but convert it to a clean DC output at the requested voltage and amperage your phone negotiates with the charger which can be anywhere from 5 volt 3amps, 9 volt 3 amp, 15 volt 3 amp, or even 20 volt 2.25 amps??
Look at not only the quantity of components difference between the two meaning the off-brand has far less protocols and protections in place but also more specifically look at the electrolytic capacitors, look at the transformer size difference, the fact that the Samsung has two, 25v capacitors, which can provide better stability and improve the ripple current handling while the off-brand has just the one, not to mention the off-brand doesn't even have a dedicated fuse. This has been verified by a second party that actually is in PCB manufacturing.
Y'all keep messing around buying those $6 or $8, 45w chargers on Amazon and someone unfortunately is going to find out one day why there's a price discrepancy.
YOU BOUGHT A $1,500 PHONE, WHY WOULD YOU OPT TO POWER THAT PHONE DAILY BY A $10 CHARGER?
