Today in the Samsung Galaxy store, I received an update for the Samsung Messaging app, after updating the application, I noticed that rcs was enabled and i confirmed that it was working for Verizon.
This is great news it's a lot more customizable than Google messages and actually changes the font to your system font.
Chat features are available and you can see when someone is typing!
Thought this might be helpful

No idea maybe you are on a older device? After 6.1 it stopped. If you got this pop it you will notice your allowing Google to process RCS. The problem now is you should not actually see the rccs feature when you're texting on Samsung app. But if you switch to the Google messaging app set it all up you will notice that it will verify your phone number through Verizon and Link the rccs platform that will not happen in Samsung messaging along with all the neat features. try it try Google messaging for a few days you'll see the difference. But hey no argument here if it's somehow working for you more power to you.1748384796754.jpg1748385010466.jpg

I have been using RCS on Samsung Messages for years. I upgrade my phone every year, from T-Mobile to Verizon. I now have an S25 Ultra. It has never stopped working. I also just received a Samsung Messages update on the 21st of this month.

The experience, features, and encryption are not the same. If you have the S25, the built-in messaging is Google. Samsung no longer includes it on its new devices unless you download it. Here is a lice shot from Verizons website. These are the Rich Communication Services (RCS) chats provide an upgraded, rich messaging experience. RCS chats:

Show you when someone is typing.Offer read receipts, which show when someone has read or received your message. Read receipts also show your contact when you read their message.Send messages over mobile data and Wi-Fi.Let you share files and high-resolution photos.

When you use RCS chats, your messages are sent with the Rich Communication Services (RCS) protocol over Wi-Fi and mobile data. RCS chats will be turned on only when all the participants in a conversation have RCS. RCS chats are provided by Google.

The Samsung Messages you download from the Galaxy Store on S25 and newer phones has RCS connected directly to Google Jibe bypassing the carriers. Samsung Messages is supposed to get E2EE, Reactions, Messages editing, Location Sharing. And full RCS Universal Profile 3.0 support with One Ui 8. Stay tuned ๐Ÿ™‚

Samsung just recently reinstated support for Samsung Messaging. My Samsung messaging app didn't have support for RCS on Verizon before this update trust me I checked. Just with this recent update I received the ability to use Chat features. If I find the article I will post it on here

The only bad thing I have found so far with Samsung messaging is when trying to send Original quality pictures that I have taken on my camera. It only gives me to "reduce quality" or send as a link

It shouldn't reduce it. When you try to send a picture, press the icon in the bottom right and change the quality to original. It won't reduce it.

There's a new Sammy messages app that should be released when OneUI 8.0 goes GA. It's supposed to include message reactions.
