The development team do not read these posts, and even if they do glance through them, they do not act on or respond to anything posted.  This is strictly user to user help.

I posted in another thread as this is what solved my problem, so this is a duplicate.

Do you have a Galaxy Watch paired to your phone by any chance? I had the same issue after the upgrade and I tired everything from clearing cache on apps, resetting the settings, clearing phone cache, and finally factory reset without luck.

tl;dr: there is a setting to show notifications between the devices. It was set to "smart" decide which device, when I selected show on both everything worked again! You can quickly verify this by just disabling Bluetooth.

Yup I saw this solution somewhere on the internet and tried it. It didn't work. It seems like a 'volume' issue that nullandvoid mentioned. Thanks though.

That is not their issue, nor mine.  The issue is with the 7.0 update, Samsung lowered the maximum volume for notifications, ring tone and system sounds.  Those of us who keep that volume low anyway, discovered that the sounds were unable to be heard at all if the volume sliders are at anything other than maximum.  Even then, they are so low you can only hear them if you are within 5 feet of your phone.

So my issue is that I'm getting no sound when texts come in. I have the notifications fixed for system and other apps, but can't figure out why the sound is off for texts. I believe it has something to do with RCS, becuz I can send myself a sms and when it comes in, I get a sound. But whenever someone else sends me a text (seems to always be RCS), it doesn't make a sound or even vibrate.
