Samsung has to stop adding more Google products /features, if I wanted to be spy on, I would have gotten a Pixel phone. Google is the most intrusive and abusive of personal data.

Samsung, just be Samsung.

Not many options. De-Googled custom ROMs are only available for Pixel 9 series devices and older, and maybe some Chinese OEMs that still allow bootloader unlocking & rooting.

Another brand new account was only one post! I'm sure this was posted just to get a rise out of everyone. LOL

Dear User,

Might I make a suggestion, GET A FLIP PHONE.

I just don't understand all this paranoia over data collecting. If it was for nefarious reasons then there would be cause for concern. But, it is not for nefarious reasons.

Google by and large is an advertising COMPANY first, all the other stuff is gravy for the the meat. They sell the information so when you search for sneakers you are going to see sneaker ads.

It goes way beyond sneaker ads. Google collects location history, search queries, voice recordings, app usage, purchases, and more โ€” all tied together into a detailed profile you donโ€™t control. Even if itโ€™s not always โ€˜nefarious,โ€™ that much concentration of power in one company is a problem.

If anyone wants to see the many reasons people are concerned, hereโ€™s a great thread where users break it all down: https://www.reddit.com/r/degoogle/s/OGA4hJqkRn

Itโ€™s not paranoia โ€” itโ€™s awareness.

I get it, but if you read way Google does all of this collection of data, there is nothing that I am not really concerned with. Yes, they collect an inordinate amount of data, is primarily for advertising. Data is also collected for uses to make Google Maps better, to make Gemini smarter, for better voice recognition to make a more natural speaking voices for Gemini. All kinds of services that Google has to offer.

I would sooner trust Google with my Data that I voluntarily give, that the government that collects my data without my permission.

The issue isnโ€™t whether Google uses the data for โ€œadsโ€ or โ€œconvenience features.โ€ The issue is that once the data is collected, itโ€™s out of our control โ€” and history has shown it can be shared, sold, or handed over to governments on request.

And calling it โ€œvoluntaryโ€ is misleading. You canโ€™t realistically use Android, Maps, or the Play Store without handing over data. Thatโ€™s not the same as me freely choosing to share โ€” itโ€™s the price of entry into their ecosystem.

Itโ€™s not about paranoia, itโ€™s about recognizing that too much power and information concentrated in one company is a risk no matter how you frame it.

Flip phones aren't safe either. Most modern flip phones run KaiOS, which also uses Google services. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Landline is the only option. Even then, wiretapping is a thing.

Anyone who is this concerned with privacy should not be using a telephone, period.

I would humbly ask that you take a close look at the TOS and privacy provisions for Gemini, it goes way beyond recommending sneakers.

Hi, I'm not one for the double-edged swords either. Google does offer a lot of things versus collecting your information ๐Ÿค”. I don't mind so much. What I do mind though is all the ASKING TO SHARE WITH FAMILIES AND FRIENDS.I don't have family like that, who I want to share everything with them! And if I want to share with friends then we have nothing to talk about!! When I do see them. Another thing is ,I have shared things in the past and when we see each other, they say things like, " oh yeah, we already heard or seen it!" Uh, NO WE DIDN'T! So no don't like sharing ANYTHING TO ANYONE!!!
