Galaxy S24

So I've noticed that when using 12MP, 50MP, and even 200MP, my phone isn't using the camera to its full potential. I'm really confused because I haven't changed anything in my settings. Is anyone else having this problem?

So I did some research. Samsung has changed how the camera aspect ratios work on the Samsung S24 Ultra. 9:16 used to capture at the full 12 MP. But now, if you want the full image quality of 12 MP, 50 MP, and 200 MP, you need to use 3:4. I don't know why they did this.

No, it's not just the S24. I just took a shot at 12 MP 9:16 and it came up as 9 MP as well.

The pixel count for each sensor, 12MP, 50MP and 200MP is for the entire sensor. If used to take pictures at 3:4, 9:16, 1:1 or anything other than Full, only a percentage of the sensor's pixels are being utilized, reducing pictures quality.

I actually just looked and the only mode that actually used the full 200MP was 3:4. 1:1 and 9:16 only used 150MP, and Full used 123MP. This is also with using One UI 7 Beta with the s24 ultra
