I was wanting to reach out to someone at Samsung to let them know that ever since the last security patch after the official one ui 7 update my phone has been getting really hot and running very slow. Ram is clean and clear as well as storage. It never heated up like this before. I'll be watching reels and it'll get hot to the touch... its been fine the whole time I owned it until right after this last security patch a couple weeks ago. Please help

Galaxy S24Hello, welcome to the Community, and thanks for reaching out.
We understand how frustrating it is when the phone is overheating and slow.
Whether you're using a phone, tablet, smartwatch, or earbuds, all Galaxy devices have a set temperature range, where they operate at their best. While they may feel warm under certain conditions, like charging, this does not affect the device's lifespan or performance. However, if your devices get too warm, it could cause some issues. Give this link a try: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00076952/
For the phone running slow, try as @Mujibar suggested and clear the cache partition of the device:
- Power off your device.
- While the device is powered off, simultaneously press and hold the power and volume up buttons.
- Once the Samsung logo appears, release both buttons. Your device should boot into recovery mode.
Using the volume buttons to navigate and the power button to select:
- Navigate to "wipe cache partition" and press power.
- Select yes to confirm.
- Navigate down to "Repair apps" and press power.
Next, check to see if a third-party application may be responsible for this behavior. You can check with Safe mode: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062983/
If the device does not overheat or run slowly in Safe mode, uninstall third-party applications until normal device operation is restored.
Lastly, you can try a factory reset. Back up prior to doing this (https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00060517/) as your device will be getting a fresh start, then perform a factory reset: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062029/
If the troubleshooting is not helpful, the phone will need to be evaluated by a certified technician.
You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S. that can do the repair: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location or by contacting customer support at 1-800-726-7864.

Galaxy S24What I have done on my phone to combat this issue until a fix.
I have Good Guardians I have downloaded from the Galaxy Store and the Module Thermal Guardian. There you can change the threshold settings. I stepped it down one notch and turned on all in the advanced settings.
My phone only heats up when I am using shorts on YouTube and running an app that is using GPS, in my case Lyft.
This is thebonly time my phone gets really hot. It got so hot on one occasion that it scorched my case.

Galaxy S24Hi! The same problem occurred after my Galaxy S24 was updated. I cleared the cache partition, and enabled light performance mode in battery settings. This reduced battery heating and increased the life of batteries.
Samsung is known to release quick fixes. Hopefully, a new patch will be released soon. In the meantime, updating apps and tracking battery consumption per app is also helpful. Samsung is great for their regular updates.
