I just got a galaxy s24 and I can't seem to stop the notification sounds when a call is coming in. The phone rings but I also get the notification sound twice while it is ringing. How to stop this? I have gone into system apps and in one of the 3 phone apps I found a setting "incoming calls". I set the notification sound to "silent" but it didn't make a difference. Please help- the notification sound (twice) is so annoying.

Hello lusterav, thank you for your feedback. I understand your concerns with the notification sounds on your device. There are a few troubleshooting steps that we can do to help resolve the issue. I know that you stated that you have already set your notification sound to silent but your device is still ringing. When you go to Settings, Sounds and Vibration, tap volume and verify that the ringtone volume is turned off.

In Settings, Sounds and Vibration, you can also change your settings for vibration, notification sound and system sounds to your preference.

If your device is still sounding off after lowering your volume try clearing the cache of your device: Power off your device, hold down the volume up button and power button together until the logo appears, release the power button until the menu appears, use the volume buttons to select wipe cache partition and use the power button to select

When completed select reboot system

Thanks for the speedy reply. I guess I wasn't clear in what I was trying to do. In Sounds & Vibrations I have the volume up high for Ringtone and I have "Vibrate when ringing" on. That's what I want. What I don't want is my notification sound (Dew Drops) to also happen when the phone rings. There is no point in a notification that your phone is ringing when it is actually ringing. So I hear the ringtone and Dew Drops at the same time. Trying to stop the notification sound. I have wiped the cache partition. Twice. Didn't help. I refuse to reset settings and start over because it took me 2 days just to set all of my settings. I still think it has something to do with the 3 phone apps in the system apps. Samsung phone tech told me to reset the settings because he couldn't come up with anything. Any other thoughts?

How are you getting a notification sound for the phone? The only sound I get is the phone ringing or the notification after a missed call. Why do you have 3 phone apps? Only one can be active at a time, but maybe one of the inactive ones is giving a missed call notification.

Trying to figure out how you are getting a notification sound in addition to the ring and vibration option never heard that mentioned before

Since you mention Dew Drops as the notification sound I'm guessing that is a downloaded sound. Have you tried deleting it from your phone temporarily and switch to a system sound and see if you have that issue.

At first I was thinking a mode or routine was maybe added causing this but after looking at modes and routines I could see that either could be set up to trigger a notification sound.

You mentioned 3 phone apps, I know Samsung phone for some reason can't be disabled, or uninstalled but of the other two maybe pick one and uninstall the other to make sure it isn't causing this bug. I Have Google Phone app and it is my default, can't be used if it isn't, and I haven't had this issue with the Chime sound I downloaded of notifications.

So, you refuse to do the suggested thing that may solve your issue, but you continue to moan. What makes you think the Samsung techs don't know what thaey are talking about, but somehow you know better?

However, you should not be getting any notification sound other than your phone ringing. As another user suggested, it may very well be your downloaded sound causing confusion, so you can try deleting that sound. You could also try deleting the phone's cache partition to clear out any junk. It will not harm anything or reset your settings, it will untangle anything that may be causing this. Also, stop mucking around in the system apps, they are hidden for a reason. The phone apps are not three separate apps, they are three components of the same app. There should be no reason to mess with them.
