Galaxy S24Extremely Disappointed – Galaxy S24 Ultra Broken After Update, No Callback, No Solution I am posting this because I am extremely disappointed with both the reliability of my Galaxy S24 Ultra and the way Samsung Support has handled this case. Device: Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Issue: Microphone / call audio failure Issue started: Immediately after Samsung software update on 12/02/2025 Facts, clearly: The phone worked normally before the update Immediately after the update, callers could no longer hear me properly Outgoing audio cuts in and out or disappears completely I can hear the other party, but my voice does not transmit reliably All troubleshooting was completed, including a full factory reset There is no physical damage, no liquid damage, and no misuse This issue has made a flagship phone unreliable for basic phone calls, which is unacceptable. What makes this worse is the support experience. After multiple chats and escalations, I was told: My warranty recently expired Phone Support could review goodwill repair or a discount I contacted Phone Support as instructed. I was placed on hold, told someone would call me back, and since then nothing. No callback. No discount. No case manager. No timeline. No solution. At this point, I am simply waiting with zero follow-up, which is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. This is especially disappointing because I am not a new or occasional customer. I have been a loyal Samsung customer since 2020, with over $12,000 in direct purchases from Samsung between 2020–2025, including multiple high-value devices, accessories, and store pickups. I stayed within the Samsung ecosystem and expected better accountability. A Samsung software update appears to have caused this failure, yet I am being left without resolution, without communication, and without ownership from support. I am posting this to: Document a software-induced failure on a Galaxy S24 Ultra Highlight the lack of follow-up and accountability from Samsung Support Ask whether other users experienced microphone or call audio issues after recent updates Request help from Samsung Community moderators to assign a case manager or properly escalate this case Right now, the most disappointing part is not just the defect itself, but the feeling of being ignored after escalation. I am still waiting for Samsung to contact me with a real solution.

Run a diagnostics and send it to samsung, this will also tell you if its the hardware or software.

The Samsung Community is a forum for peer-to-peer support. While moderators can occasionally "escalate" a post to a social media team, they lack system-level access.
The most likely software culprit could be Mic Mode (Voice Focus). During the transition to the One UI update the "Voice Focus" algorithm was updated. If this is on, the phone uses AI to "strip out" background noise. If the update corrupted this AI model, it might be mistakenly stripping out your voice as well.

There are multiple threads on Reddit and the Samsung Community from late 2025 (specifically following the December 2025 security patch and One UI updates) where S24 Ultra users describe the exact same symptoms.
Microphone 1 failure in some cases, the update caused the diagnostic tool (in Samsung Members) to show a hardware failure for "Mic 1," even though the phone was fine moments before the update.
Call-specific failure users reported, the mic works fine for video recording or voice memos, but fails only during cellular calls, which almost always points to a software/firmware conflict rather than a broken physical part.

Good luck. That happened to me a few months ago and they wouldn't take responsibility, I had to buy a new phone!

We should be able to do rollbacks with software updates like on Windows to a version that worked before the update. We pay thousands for these devices and when something goes wrong and no accountability for anything from Samsung or any large corporation is unacceptable. I have been with Samsung since the first galaxy S series. And I've also had every note series and watches. The only reason I got rid of my note 20 ultra is because I could no longer receive updates. I wanted my sd card support. Now we are forced to buy storage when it runs low on these 1 to 2 thousand dollar phones . I'm on a Galaxy s24 ultra and the only reason I didn't upgrade to the s25 ultra is because they took the Bluetooth support from the S pen. The price goes up or stays the same but they take features away and still charge an arm and a leg. And this post will probably get deleted or flagged because of what I just said. Because every time someone post something like this it gets deleted so not to make Samsung look bad. I hope you get your phone situation worked out. I won't be updating my phone if this is going on.

Have you tried the basic simple fix that you're supposed to do that like nobody ever does? You do know that every time you get a new UI update to your device you're supposed to go into the phone and do a system cache clear... this is something that was even stated in those manuals that you used to get with the phone that you know most people never actually decided to read similar to that of a TOS.
If you don't know how to get into your device to do a system clear respond to this and I can let you know how to do it though I'm sure a simple Google search will help as it basically requires you to turn off your phone turn it back on hold two buttons let go of one blah blah blah you enter the area you go down to clear the cache blah blah
