Duplicates in Gallery app

When I look at my Gallery app, there ate no duplicate photos. When I try to attach a photo to a text messages I'm shown the Gallery to select a photo. That Gallery has tons of duplicate photos. 1 photo probably has 40 duplicates. I've worked with two techs and haven't been able to delete the duplicates. We've done just about everything you can think of.

@Clay13 I'm guessing that your camera is in motion photo mode or you have accidentally grabbed photos in a burst mode. 

Go to the Gallery and click on the repeated photo. 

• If it is a motion photo, at the bottom you will see the words "View motion photo". You can remove the motion part by going to the upper right and clicking on the 3 dots. Select Delete video clip.
• If it is a burst, on the bottom right you will see an icon of stacked photos with a photo count. You can click on that and delete the multiple photos.

You misread my post. The Gallery app has no duplicates. When I try to attach a photo to a text message it takes me to Gallery to select the photo I want to attach. This Gallery is entirely different from my Gallery app. There are tons of duplicates in this Gallery, but I don't know how to delete them.

If you are using a gallery app that is not the phone's native gallery app,  then it may not handle burst or motion photo captures the same way.  Of course people are going to assume you are speaking of the Samsung Gallery app, as most people see no need to install a different, separate gallery app.  Samsung Gallery will always be the default when selecting images for an upload within an app.  Some apps will let you manually select another.

@Clay13 In the case of a motion photo or a burst, the Gallery only shows one photo. So it doesn't appear that there are duplicates until you click on those items.

The photo that has about 40 duplicates doesn't even appear in my Gallery app when I click on the app. It does appear, many times, when I click to add a photo to a text message and click on THAT Gallery. The Galleries are different. I worked over an hour and a half with two different Samsung techs and they couldn't figure it out. Thanks for trying to help. I think the only way I can fix it is if someone on this forum had the exact issue and was able to find a solution.

I was syncing my gallery to Onedrive gallery, and it was making duplicates in that gallery. I stopped syncing to Onedrive for that reason.

That was one of the first things I did.
