Have you tried clearing the cache of the gallery app?
Long press on the gallery, when you see the pop-up, tap on the "i". This will open the info page of the app, go to storage and clear cache.

Try a wipe cache partition.
Power off your phone and press power key and volume up button simultaneously until the phone vibrates and the Samsung logo appears. Using Volume buttons for scrolling and the Power button for Yes, scroll to Wipe cache partition, press power, scroll to Yes, press power, reboot, press power.
This will not erase any data on your phone, it will get rid of junk ghost files you no longer need.
