I have a Samsung S24 running Oneui7.

I would like to see an icon in the status bar when location and bluetooth are turned on among other things.

I have installed Good Lock and Quickstar.  Quickstar looks like it should do the trick but  apparently does not work in OneUI7 and does not work for me.

Any info on if  Quickstar should work and when this feature may function in oneui7 would be appreciated.

Are there any other options to customize the status bar.

I agree totally with what wn137 says.

The decision to limit what the appears on the primary status bar is totally incomprehensible.

The user should be able to add ANYTHING from the Quick pulldown menu to the status bar as long as there is room.

Oy, such a hardship to pull down the quick access menu to view the secondary status bar and your status icons.

If you know you turned your BT on, and your BT devices are connected and working, there is really no need (except habit) to have the icon in view all the time.  If you are the type that keeps BT off at all time, except when you want to use it, you still would have to pull down the QP to turn it on, and then you will see the icon appear that it is on and you will see it disappear when you pull the QP down to turn it off. Just because you are used to having something be there does not make it a necessity that it remain there.  To downgrade your whole OS just because of this is counterintuitive and counterproductive.  But, that is ultimately your decision and your choice.

I'm really not looking to argue with anyone. if you're happy with it then power to you. for anyone else who wants additional context about general user dissatisfaction with that decision see below:

I am not looking to argue either, I'm just saying that all those posts are because people don't look before posting to see if there is another post on the issue they can view or add to, and that people don't like the change because they are just used to seeing the icons there and don't like change in general.  As long as one still has access to view the status of certain things, it shouldn't be an issue.  What is everyone going to do going forward when updates come and the view remains the same, or buy new device with a higher OS and the view remains the same.  If it was never front and center in the first place, no one would be crying for it to be there.

And, now that you've downgraded your OS, unless you never get another update, you are going to run into the same issue.  And when your phone no longer works properly on the older OS, what happens when you buy a new device that you can't root or won't accept the earlier OS?

or maybe with enough community support the dev team will notice and restore it in future roll outs. that's why we post on forums like this. I've used Samsung devices for quite some time and have been a big fan for the most part but there are signs that it is starting to borrow from or mimic features you would typically see in iOS/apple products which is what I migrated away from years ago. additionally other android platforms have not done this:

"The decision to hide the Bluetooth icon in the status bar is specific to Samsung’s One UI 7 and not a universal feature of Android 15 or 16. Other Android UIs like Google’s stock Android (Pixel), OxygenOS, HyperOS, and My UX generally retain the Bluetooth icon when connected, though customization options may allow hiding it. iOS shares a similar approach to One UI 7 by relegating the Bluetooth icon to the Control Center, but this is not common among Android-based UIs. Samsung’s choice has been controversial, with users citing the need for quick visibility to confirm Bluetooth connections, especially for audio devices."

"iOS (Apple): iOS 18 and earlier versions do not consistently show a Bluetooth icon in the status bar. When Bluetooth is on or connected, the icon typically appears only in the Control Center (accessed by swiping down) rather than the main status bar, similar to Samsung’s One UI 7 approach. This has been a point of comparison for some Samsung users frustrated with One UI 7, as they note iOS’s lack of a persistent Bluetooth icon as a downside they didn’t expect from Android."

so to answer your question if Samsung continues down the path of emulating iOS or making decisions that don't align with my preferences I will simply seek out other android brands that do but I hope it doesn't come to that.

Then you have to complain to Google it was their decision.  Also, the correct avenue to send feedback on features is here: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Tips-Tricks/How-to-Send-Feedback/ba-p/3001692, and not in a peer-to-peer user forum where other users can do nothing about it but complain like you.

I'm pretty sure this is a Samsung related decision:

"Samsung's Official Statement: A Samsung community moderator explicitly stated that the removal of the Bluetooth icon (along with other icons like NFC and alarm) from the status bar in One UI 7 was a deliberate design choice by Samsung to achieve a "cleaner and simpler look." This is documented in sources like the SamMobile article and SammyFans article, where Samsung's rationale is explained in response to user complaints."

but thank you for the post/reference to the feedback section.

In either case, there  is only one way to express your dissatisfaction with that decision and that is to send feedback.  The development team does not act on forum posts, they only act on documented feedback through the official channel.  In the meantime, one can always choose a phone from another brand that actually does have all the icons showing.
