If you don't see it in the Galaxy store, it is not available for your phone.  It is only available for certain models at this point.  Samsung removed it in some models with the OneUI7 update, as the plan was to sunset the app in favor of Google Messages.  It now seems they might bring it back, but only for certain newer models, not legacy phones.

If you used SmartSwitch to transfer your data from an old phone to this phone, see if it allows you to restore the Samsung Messages app from that backup, if you still have it available. I am unable to check with my phone right now but hope it works.

I too liked Samsung Messages but switched to Google once RCS was no longer available on Samsung Messages. Google Message has been working out fine so far.

I have the a16 5g and Google text was the app,So I went in Galaxy Store and downloaded Samsung Text message app, then settings app disabled Google text app,I don't like the Google text app, because I've bought and buy custom fonts from Samsung Galaxy Store, And doesn't let me use my custom fonts, If they change this ,I might but not interested in Google text app ๐Ÿ˜ŠI 'll keep Samsung Text message app ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅAfter this a Samsung Galaxy Phoneโคโคโคโคโค

Well, I hope you never have to reset your phone, you will likely not get Samsung Messages back on an A16 even if you restore your backup.  Since Google Messages is a Google app, if you want to be able to use your custom fonts, you would have to contact the Google developers to request it.  Samsung has no control over the features of Google messages.
