Anyone know what can be done? The phone was functioning fine, once the update was installed, the touchscreen doesn't respond to my touch. Works with the pen but not my fingers. We have master reset and now samsung is saying I'm on my own however, a repair as such wouldn't be cheap, at least I don't think. No warranty it's expired. Samsung 23 ultra.

If the S Pen still works, use it to access the power menu from quick settings. Follow these steps to clear device cache. It will hopefully clean out the cobwebs.

1) Turn off your device.

2) Press and hold the Volume Up button and the Side/Power button until you feel a vibration and the Samsung logo appears. Let go of the buttons.

3) You will now be in Android recovery. Use the Volume buttons to highlight "Wipe cache partition."

4) Press the Side/Power button to execute.

5) Use the Volume buttons to highlight "Yes."

6) Press the Side/Power button to execute.

7) "Reboot system now" will already be highlighted. Press the Side/Power button to execute.

The writer probably replaced the screen with a non OEM panel.

Did you replace your screen anytime between Ui6 and Ui7 from a non Samsung service center.

If you did this the problem, the update is not recognizing your display to install the needed drivers for the touch display to work.

You would need to replace with an OEM screen.

If you Google the problem I have seen work around for this problem.

They are not an authorized service center. Only a Ubreakifixit is authorized to fix Samsung phone.

You will have to take it the one closest to you.

I am having the same problem on my s21 ultra 5g after I replaced the screen. What's messed up is the screen works fine. Worked before 6.1 update, now doesn't. Even worse, if you boot the phone with the old broken screen attached and once it's booted, hotswap the old screen for the new one, the touch panel works again until the phone is restarted and the drivers try and load/authenticate again. This tells me all I need to know... that Samsung is doing this on purpose, knows about it, and probably isn't going to do anything about it. This is complete b.s. and leaves a horrible taste in my mouth for supporting future Samsung products. Very disappointing to witness this kind of thing taking place. The price of these phones now is cheaper than buying the "oem" screen which makes this decision look like a ploy to get people to upgrade as well as hurt the sale of perfectly good and functioning screens from anyone who isn't Samsung themselves. I was hoping that one UI 7 would correct this little problem but it seems Samsung doesn't care and isn't planning on fixing it anytime soon.
