Today I received a software update. I was driving so it didn't download until I got home. Once it connected to wifi it installed. What gives them the right to say it's a software update and then proceed to just put Games on my phone. What a sleasy move.
This really bothered me

I'm sorry to hear this. When you signed up with your carrier, you gave them permission to install updates and other apps they think you might want. It's generally best to purchase your phone directly from Samsung, as this way the updates won't include unwanted additions.

Didn't realize it was AT&T. I'll make sure to take this into consideration my next phone which will be soon.

Yeah, when carriers push out monthly security updates, they always add games and other apps, thinking people will like them, but everyone uninstalls them right away. That's why it's best to always purchase directly from Samsung, as the monthly updates are pure and have nothing added.

Those games come from your carrier, not Samsung. That's the price you pay for phones that are partially or wholly subsidized by the carrier.

I found a bunch of unwanted games just as they were finishing installation. Removed ASAP. Had no idea where they came from. And yes...AT&T here.
