My wife's phone. Never had any issue with the motion photo feature before the update a couple days ago. I tried resetting all camera settings and options as well as clearing the camera data and cache. She said it works sporadically but most of the time not at all. Frustrating issue for her because we have a baby and she uses the feature to get the "right" picture. Hopefully someone has some insight or ideas. Thanks.
There also has to be plenty of light. The motion photo icon will be greyed out if there isn't enough light to work. After I changed mine, it now works MOST of the time. 🤞
I changed my advance intelligence options from Max to Minimun, so now the motion is working (it did not work by changing to medium. Had to fo to minimum). Thanks
I'm glad. I tried moving mine from med to low and now it works almost all of the time, and only occasionally still doesn't work. But I hope Samsung releases a fix/patch for this issue.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. This works. You are better than Samsung tech support. I spent 2 hrs on the phone with them. They reset me phone and it still did work. They suggested that since my phone was out of warranty, I should see a Samsung authorized dealer to get the problem fixed, and I would have to pay out of pocket for that. So, thanks a million
Mine (on an S22U) is set bu default to the middle level of three (‘Medium’: «Speed up capture time by doing less optimization.») instead of the highest thereof (‘Maximum': «»). Perhaps if i switch mine to the lowest (‘Minimum’: «Take pictures as fast as possible by not optimising pictures after they're taken.») I shall get better results.. but ionno *shrug*.
I'm having the same issue with Motion Photo not working anymore since the latest update on my S21 Ultra. I always use it for Humane Society dog photos and other important photos! It will still take some photos with motion - but not all of them anymore. And then when it does take the photo and I go into the video to grab a screenshot it does not allow me to slowly scan the video at the bottom of the screen and grab the shot(s) that I want. It sometimes allows me to do this and once I grab one screenshot it no longer will allow me to slowly scan the video by moving it manually across the bottom of the screen...I have to literally hit the pause button as the video plays to get to the screenshot I want, which is nearly impossible. PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP. You cannot believe the number of iphone users who I have introduced this feature to and may have even converted some because iphone does not do this.
