Navigation Bar used to be able to disappear and bring it back up, bring that feature back!

Prior to the update that did more harm than good, the navigation bar used to disappear after a few seconds, allowing me to access things along the bottom of app screens. Tapping the screen would bring the bar back up so I could navigate the phone. Post update, the bar doesn't disappear, and I cannot fully use some apps (app's menu is at the bottom of the screen, visible under the navigation bar, but untouchable).

Can I change that back (no, I don't want swipe gestures. I want buttons on a bar that will disappear until needed again) or is this yet ANOTHER way Samsung us over with a garbage update?

Did you clear your phone cache after the update?

You can also use GoodLock's Navistar module to add a show/hide button on the navigation bar, so you can hide the navigation bar at will.

if this doesn't solve your issue put in an error/feedback report through the support tab in the Members App.

What does clearing the cache have to do with fixing settings?! Cleaning clutter doesn't change settings.

Because after an update there may be incompatible temporary files hanging around that may interfere with the proper operation of your apps.  No, it doesn't change settings, but it helps them to work.  That is always the second step in troubleshooting (the first step is a simple reboot), and it is good practice to do it after every update.  It's like a laxative for your phone - keeps things running smoothly. Also, your issue is not a settings issue, it is a crossed wires issue.

Ok. Cleared cache AGAIN. Restarted device AGAIN (for the umpteenth time since the update). Still have my navigation bar (which I want) but it still doesn't fade.
So obviously the cache isn't crossing the wires.

I shouldn't have to add more apps to my device just to do basic functions like navigation.

OK, is it only happening with that one app or all of them?  Normally, even when the nav bar doesn't hide, the apps align themselves above it.  Has it occurred to you that this particular app may not have been updated?  If it's only happening with that app, that would be the likely explanation.  If it is happening with all of them, either use the NaviStar option I suggested, or put in an error report - or both.

All apps, all the time.

OK, so as a temporary workaround, try the Navistar option.  Put in an error report and make sure your logs are uploaded.

You can also utilize text support and allow them remote access to your phone so that they can look around.

Ooo this sounds passive- aggressive. Stop putting the onus on the user and apologise... then come up with a real usable solution without downloading new apps. !

It's passive aggressive now to give someone the steps to aid in solving their issue? Sometimes the onus *is* on the user to do stuff. Phones do not magically fix themselves. Good Lock and its modules is Samsung's official customization app, and is, actually, a "real, useable solution". No apology is necessary or forthcoming.

And, actually, this post is several months old now.  I imagine if the OP was still having an issue, they would continue to post on the subject.  If you have a better solution, have at it and give the OP *your* advice, Mr. 2 comments.
