Prior to the update that did more harm than good, the navigation bar used to disappear after a few seconds, allowing me to access things along the bottom of app screens. Tapping the screen would bring the bar back up so I could navigate the phone. Post update, the bar doesn't disappear, and I cannot fully use some apps (app's menu is at the bottom of the screen, visible under the navigation bar, but untouchable).

Galaxy S23Gestures have become the industry standard. (It's rumored, but not confirmed, that in One UI 8.5 or 9, gestures will be default out of the box) With this shift, some developers are not yet compliant with edge-to-edge standards, resulting in the overlap.
Samsung has provided the NavStar workaround to compensate for this issue with 3rd party developers that are outside of their control. An error report will almost certainly not yield a response because Samsung cannot control or fix your specific issue.
The best and fastest way to resolve this is to transition to navigation gestures rather than buttons.
You can also reach out to the developers of the specific app where the error occurs and request that they update their app to comply with edge-to-edge. Developer contact info can be found in the Play Store Listing.
For a more in-depth explanation of the relationship between Samsung and third party developers, and who is ACTUALLY responsible for your issue, see my post here: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Samsung-Apps-and-Services/Having-issues-with-apps-after-updating...

Galaxy S23The bigger problem is it used to automatically hide to begin with. And they took the feature away and gave the solution of an application to use instead.
