Anytime someone sends me an emoji, it quotes whatever they were responding to, back to me. I definitely don't need to be quoted back what I've already said. How do I disable this?

Emojis do not have to involve quotes.

So I learned this happens when you are using Samsung Messenger and the person you are texting is using Google Messenger or Apple Messenger. One way to mostly fix this is to switch over to Google messenger it will then stop the quotes. Hope this helps

These are tapbacks, not just emoji. As other users have stated, Google Messages interprets these correctly, Samsung messages does not. Switching to Google Message will also give you the other benefits of RCS, with both Android and iOS users... typing indicators, read receipts, etc.
