Help SmartThings app says rooted?

Okay I was using the SmartThings app last night when to use it just a minute ago and is saying it cannot open because the phone is rooted I have never rooted this phone or even attempted anything like that with this phone why would it do that?

I only ask because I'm still not sure how or why it was giving me that message.

Something changed in the September 16th update. I rolled back to the July update and it works fine.

Wow all the way back to July dang yeah I'm not sure if that's what happened with mine but I got this message

It is unrelated.  That is the end of support for apps on devices with ANDROID 8, not later versions.  On your S23, you are way beyond Android 8. You may be confusing Android 8 with OneUI8, and they are not the same thing.

PS Don't forget to turn off auto-update in the Play store.
