Try looking at your storage and clear it up as the app relies on storage. Optimize your apps using the widget. Maybe that might help clear the freezing issue. Also, if you have Carrier Services app by Google in the playstore I read you should uninstall it but it shouldn't be in your phone since it's new I'm guessing.
