Galaxy S23Sorry but no thats the default swipe gestures to pull down the menu. You can change it back to the old way if you prefer one swipe down instead of 2
Quick Notification settings
- Swipe down from the top right of the screen.
- Click the Pencil icon in upper right.
- Click the Panel settings in upper left
- Change the setting from Separate to Together.

Galaxy S23@Sauce In addition to @GaryB82 's recommendation, you may want to take a look at the One Hand Operation+ module in Samsung's Good Lock. With that you can create swipes from the edges which perform the task you specify. So you can make a short swipe left open the Notifications pane. There are many, many options.
This is all free and available in the Galaxy store.

Galaxy S23Click on the pencil
Click on panel settings
Flip the switch on the bottom that says "quick panel on left side"
Click done. That might do what you're looking for
