Contact photos

How do I stop my phone from adding pictures to contacts? The picture isn't from my gallery. I keep editing the contact photo and it keeps changing it back when they text me.

That's ridiculous. It shouldn't update it without my permission.

No its a contacts registered photo for their profile and/or caller id. Through same phone service possibly etc.
