Sending photos in text

I am experiencing an issue with the Samsung keyboard app on my Samsung Galaxy phone. When composing a text message and attempting to attach a photo from my Gallery, the attachment fails. However, if the text message body is left blank, photo transmission is successful.

Why do you think it's a keyboard issue and not an issue with the messaging app?
