After upgrading my S21+ to One UI 7 there is an extremely large lag in camera related operations. Opening the camera takes a while. And switching to video mode from photo mode takes at least 8 to 10s I kid you not. This is making the phone less usable by the day. This lag is present when switching between back and front cameras as well. Samsung please fix this bug in the next update! Else this is basically forced obsolescence of a flagship phone. No other way to perceive this.

There is another thread running simultaneous to this thread with the same issue concerning a laggy, delayed camera shudder that commonly fails - I personally have the camera shutter delay last about 10-seconds.  The screen is also frozen during this time, as is the shutter.  If you move the photo, the photo taken will be of something else or blurry.  It appears that when the camera glitches, the shutter sound does NOT coincide with a picture being taken.  I also completely turned off image optimization and enhancement in the camera's settings which has ZERO effect whatsoever.  Samsung S21.  Thank you community - Samsung support has been completely silent on this issue!!

I truly thought my phone was bag of I mrssed something up. This is ridiculous. The same issue people complained with apple phones id now happening with Samsung. This is a tactic to upgrade the phone.

This is crazy... It's been more than a month since I wrote this post and Samsung doesn't even acknowledge after all the feedback in the thread

I'm checking this post every day for an update. Still having the lag issue and no update. Here's the bigger problem now (for Samsung). I'm not going to upgrade to an S25 since S26 is maybe 6 months away, close enough to wait? I've been with Samsung for many years and it's been generally great. I'm in the position now of dealing with this lag for 6 months, or going to a competitor, and one competitor just had a big launch today. I'd much prefer to stay with Samsung but in this position I might be forced to move.

I've had a Samsung Galaxy since the original (then S3, S5, S8, S10 now S21u). After hearing me complain, my wife said "why don't you get an iPhone like me, my camera works fine". How do you answer that?

FYI, I found a temporary workaround: switch to "Night" photos (while in the Camera app, there is "Photo" then "Video" then "Night". Use Night! Just about all of my lag is gone. Granted, it is not ideal. I think I've lost automatic photo enhancements. And you have to hold steady if in lower light. But outdoor photos are snappy with no lag in tapping the shutter or changing zoom level, etc. Also, I changed the camera setting to remember the last mode. This way, every time I open the camera app, it is in Night mode unless I change it. Sure hope Samsung fixes this!!

Excellent - I will give that a shot.  Today in my trials and tribulations I disabled QR Code Scanning and Document Scanning and although the issue was not fixed, I "Felt" as though the symptoms were just a 'lil bit less frequent.  Scientific results NOT guaranteed!

Do you feel as though "Night" photos has any effect on "Camera Failed" or "Camera Temperature" errors?  Have you been receiving more "Camera Failed" errors recently since this camera-delay debacle began as well?

Thank you for your testing and communication with the community - more than Samsung has done as of late.
