After upgrading my S21+ to One UI 7 there is an extremely large lag in camera related operations. Opening the camera takes a while. And switching to video mode from photo mode takes at least 8 to 10s I kid you not. This is making the phone less usable by the day. This lag is present when switching between back and front cameras as well. Samsung please fix this bug in the next update! Else this is basically forced obsolescence of a flagship phone. No other way to perceive this.

I have same issue. Samsung needs to fix this. I won't ever buy another Galaxy after then pushing out the update when we don't want it. My phone is **bleep** and I can't even use it for work. Takes me twice as long to report my photos. I've cleared partition, all caches on apps. This is BS

I have an S21 and about a week and a half ago after I received and installed the last Android update (running latest version Android 15 with a security patch dated June 1, 2025) I too have been experiencing awful camera lag.  When initially using the camera it seems to work better but then progressively gets worse.  There is an extreme shutter delay where the screen freezes too.  And occasionally it will say "Camera Failed" as well.  The camera was working absolutely flawlessly before this last Android update, and guess what?  I refuse to RESET my phone for an issue that the developers caused - it's not my fault and it certainly isn't your fault either!

I have the same issue with my A53. I've even had the phone restart when I tried to record a video. Is there a setting to turn off the stupid motion pics? I don't want them as a default. I feel like they are causing some of the delay in snapping pics.

I suffer the same problem. Switching from photo to video takes like 10 seconds, always.

Galaxy S21 5G One UI 7- after the recent One UI update (VZW) I noticed an up to several second delay from pushing the shutter until the picture takes. I don't switch between photo and video that often so I don't notice that lag so much... but geesh, if  you've composed the shot and everything is lined up, then the camera delays 2 seconds after pushing the shutter, that's nearly useless.

It doesn't happen 100% of the time... which is a blessing and a curse, since it makes it harder to tell if it's fixed. I've cleared cache and deleted temp files and restarted, these have not helped.

I rely on my phone for work, primarily involving taking pictures.  The last week has been a terrific nightmare.  The delay is random - meaning sometimes, if I snap a picture, the picture still shows clearly after the delay.  Other times, if I snap a picture, the picture is either blurry or of something else entirely.  The timing of the shutter is completely random regardless of how long this newfound "camera" delay bug is.  Very frustrating, very erratic, very unpredictable, TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!
