Gmail notifications not showing unless I open the app

I don't get any notifications when I get new Gmails when I open the gmail app then it will show that I have notifications I have tried so many times also searched in the Google but not find any functional solution

If you haven't already tried this open system settings, apps, Gmail. Tap on optomize battery usage.

On the screen that opens, select apps not optimized and select All. Use the search option at the top of the page, type in Gmail. Turn off the switch.

Now that it's no longer being optimized it will always be able to send new message notifications.
