I can't believe that I was told by Samsung that they wouldn't honor my military discount unless I spend over $400. I've never heard of this before and in the past have gotten my discount on any items that I ordered. This is a terrible way to treat veterans. Shame on you Samsung!

You get discounts on everything and still complain.

Yeah, and he deserves everything he gets - you'd better believe it. No room for comments like yours.

He deserves it. Like my husband who served in the Military for 22yrs. The military member that have been separated from his family/his children/his spouse when he gets pcs'd. The 10% miltary discount is actually just a little compensation compared to all the sacrifices the military member did for our country. šŸ™‚

They may deserve it, but that does not mean that any company is required to give one and it also doesn't mean that a company that does give one can't set conditions on it.

I hate to tell you this, but a company (any company) that offers any kind of discount is allowed to set their terms for the discount.  Even when, for example, UberEats offers a discount, they usually require a minimum purchase.  Even when Macy's has a major sale and discounts "everything", they don't really mean everything, there is usually a list of exclusions longer than the advertisement.  I very rarely see any company offer a discount of any kind without some purchase minimum.  At one point, I was entitled to an employment discount with certain computer companies, it also either excluded some lower priced items outright or there was a purchase minimum.  The discount usually works out to be beneficial in any case.  It also depends on how big a discount they are giving.  Just because you are military doesn't entitle you to a discount.  It is nice when companies offer it, but they are not required to, and they are allowed to set terms when they do.  It's not a matter of mistreating veterans.  Many companies don't even allow you to take the military/employment discount on top of already discounted items.

When did you see this? I also get the military veteran's discount, but haven't ever seen a requirement like this.
