Unable to receive Apple 2 Factor Authentication

I have my Note 20 as a trusted device to get authentication codes from Apple for my iPad either by phone call or text message. As of last week this function was working now all of sudden I can't receive anything. All other sites that require 2 step authentication works perfectly. Apple tells me it's a samsung issue. I beg to differ. Could it be that my phone no longer accepts these from Apple being it so old now.

Can you verify with your phone provider that the number Apple is sending the phone or text authentication is not being blocked
