Samsung no Longer supports GALAXY NOTE 20 ULTRA 5G , Marking one of the best Iconic NOTE phones , never wanted to UPGRADED, because after 2020 Samsung removed SD Card slot , witch I rather have more STORAGE , but that's me, now it's been a week and I upgraded to the S25 ULTRA, and TBH it feels 😀 good getting a new phone , just wanted to share 😀 with you all ,

5 years is a pretty substantial lifespan for a phone. They now offer 7 for the S24 series onward.
Is lengthening the support window planned obsolescence as well?
Is Samsung obligated to continue supporting every device they have ever made indefinitely?

It should not have a locked bootloader, so that after support ends, it would be possible to install a third party operating system, like on a computer.
Samsung phones have locked bootloaders, causing any finite support window to be planned obsolescense. Increasing support from 5 to 7 years isn't planned obsolescense in itself, but is still delaying the planned obsolecense, if the bootloader is locked.
It doesn't have to be that way, some Google Pixels have an unlockable bootloader.

Knox is a key factor at play here. How would you suggest they allow bootloader unlocking without tripping the efuse and permanently disabling essential features post-install?
