Have you tried manually checking for the Google Play system update? You should be on the May 1st update. To manually check, in case you are unaware, go to settings/about phone/software information and tap on the Google Play System update text. It will check for and install any available update. You can also do this by going to settings/security and privacy, tapping on updates and tapping the Google Play System update. Whichever is easier for you, they both do the same thing.
