Hey. I pre-ordered the new Z Fold 7 before realizing that it does not support the s-pen anymore. I contemplated canceling the pre-order but popped by a Samsung Experience Store and saw the dang thing in person and now I'm torn. I use my s-pen often (like now typing this). So I'm wondering if folks have suggestions for s-pen alternatives or basically passive/capacitive styluses that could work well?

And please I am only looking for suggestions and help. I get that some folks don't care about the s-pen and yes, I'm aware I don't need to upgrade. Thanks.

Yup. Once the order is in the "processing" stage, you'll have to just decline the shipment.

Totally agree. Samsung really messed up this time.

I canceled my pre-order due to not having s-pen support. I wasn't expecting them to have it built in, but I thought they would at least have a new spen we'd have to buy. Guess they just keep saying f you old Note users. Plus it seems too thin. I have big fingers.

I am new to this conversation but I was Best Buy on Sunday and saw the phone. A gentleman was there and was having the same doubts as this conversation. I pulled out my stylus pen, and it worked just fine on both front and main screen if that helps.

What stylus did you use? I'm having trouble finding one that works.

If you are just looking to take notes, hand write, and circle items any capacitive stylus will work. No digitizer required. The digitizer allowed the Spen angle detection and sensitivity. It was made for artists. I used multiple cheap stylus on a unit at Best buy. They work just fine. Including the one I keep in my laptop bag for my Chromebook and tablet. Just like using your finger, just holding a pen so it makes hand writing more natural if that's what you want. If you wanted the Bluetooth connectivity for camera, etc well Samsung already removed those features. The benefits of the Spen specifically are not really there. For what most people used it for (hand written notes, circle to search, etc) a normal stylus works just fine. Find any on Amazon that fits your hand. Walmart, target, best buy sell packs of them. I wouldn't gauge the purchase of a $2000 device on the use of a stylus that only works with that device and does nothing more than other stylus would do (unless you are an artist).

Not true. What are you using to click and select text? How many pressure sensitivity levels does your stylus allow for? How do you automatically invoke Air Commands with your stylus?

You cannot.

I select text by highlighting it and then tape copy. I already said that it would have angle detection, which in turn, wouldn't have pressure sensitivity. Again, mostly for artist. That doesn't matter if you are just writing a note. Air commands? Never found any of those useful since all those functions are built into other places of the device like the side panel. And Bluetooth is gone, so what are you clicking for? Sounds like your use of the spen is very niche. Hence why Samsung dropped it.
