Hey. I pre-ordered the new Z Fold 7 before realizing that it does not support the s-pen anymore. I contemplated canceling the pre-order but popped by a Samsung Experience Store and saw the dang thing in person and now I'm torn. I use my s-pen often (like now typing this). So I'm wondering if folks have suggestions for s-pen alternatives or basically passive/capacitive styluses that could work well?
And please I am only looking for suggestions and help. I get that some folks don't care about the s-pen and yes, I'm aware I don't need to upgrade. Thanks.
Your welcome I haven't tried one yet but since you can use your finger you should be able to use a normal stylus with it.

I almost cancelled my order too. But I think if I can us a capacitive stylus I'll be happy. Fingers crossed. It looks like a beautiful phone. I like to "write" notes and also love the screen write function, mostly to just capture whatever is on the screen and send to someone or save. I hope I find a way to still have that function. I am assuming ai can help with that.
I'm still considering withdrawing my pre-order for the Z Fold 7 whenever I utilize my s-pen pro. This decision is challenging as I am fond of the Z Fold 6, and hence, I don't really need to upgrade. I need to ascertain if I will be able to utilize the complimentary note-taking app that is being offered with a non-Samsung stylus or the Samsung notes with such a stylus.
I have a S Pen I bought for the Fold 4. It was too long. So I haven't used it. I regret buying it! Now I can't use it at all with the new Fold 7! A waste of money! ๐ฅ
So Amazon has a selection of cases for the Z Fold 7 that actually have a stylus with it that it houses and is capacitive. I believe it will work as I have purchased one about 2 yrs ago for my Z Fold 5 that worked just fine, wasn't a Samsung S Pen but it worked !
I'm not hopeful because all those have reviews from 2023 and 2024 so I think it's a reused old listing. Pretty sure they won't work as Samsung said no stylus would work due to how they made the screen. Maybe the bulky rubber tip ones but you can't really do anything with those.
Beware those Chinese listing. They play dirty games with reviews. You'll see five stars, but once you read the reviews, you'll notice they're for cheese graters, tampons, etc.
Thanks all. I went ahead and cancelled my pre-order. I am going to keep my ZFold6. The s-pen is integral to how I use the Fold and although I typically upgrade annually, this will not be that year. I would rather keep my ZFold6 and my s-pen.
BEWARE!!!! Update, I tried to cancel my pre-order and Samsung cancelled all of the "freebies" that came with the pre-order, but refused to cancel the actual order for the phone, case and screen protector. Instead, telling me I need to receive and then decline the shipment because the order is "processing." Absolutely ridiculous!!!!! Very disappointing and this may be the end of my relationship with Samsung.
