Hi I've been a long time customer samsung usually galaxy's.....now starting to love the folds on the 5th generation now...but what i am really complaining about is I have about 17,000 photos not back up im trying to back em up but the only way or faster is to have the app running(open) but unfortunately i cant i did went to the settings to have the display set up to the max wich is about 10 min i was surprised you dont have the option never time out why..... I need that option that way I can go to sleep have the app runing while my phone on charger backing up my photos or even at work...... im so disappointed that is not an option

The "never" display timeout option was removed quite some time ago.

There is an option in Developer options called "Stay awake" which will allow the screen to never sleep while charging.1767096789613.jpg

I'm really curious as to why you can't have your backup running with the screen off.  Do you really need to watch the backup?  Running apps like a backup app don't stop just because the screen goes off. Also, how are you backing up, by a direct transfer of files to another device?  You can make a complete and faster backup by using Smart Switch and a flash drive, computer, or external drive.  Leaving the screen on indefinitely will deplete your battery and likely cause overheating, especially with a large transfer of data going on.  If you download Good Lock's display assistant, you can add an icon to the quick panel to keep your screen on for 30 minutes at a time, you can then toggle it on for another 30 minutes when it goes off.

What? Your photos automatically back up to Google unless you turned it off or filled up the allotted free space. The pictures do not get stored in Samsung backup, so Samsung took nothing away. That you weren't backung up your photos regularly and independently is on you. It should not take 6-7 hours to back up your photos unless you are doing a direct file transfer. If you use Smart Switch, you can back up the photos in a shorter period of time. Regardless, your screen does not need to be on while this is going on - whether you use Smart Switch or direct transfer. The actions will take place even if the screen goes off. If you use Smart Switch, there's an option to keep the screen on while the backup is taking place. If you paid for extra cloud storage so that your photos can continue to back up to Google, the same applies, they will automatically back up continuously in the background. No need to keep the screen on. Even if your backup did take 6-7 hours, keeping the screen on that long is not a good idea. Just go on with your back up however you're doing it and let the screen go dark.
